UltraViolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) is a method of disinfection or sterilisation that uses ultraviolet light (UV-C) to kill or inactivate micro-organisms.
Air from the room is drawn into the unit through an electrostatic filter. It then passes through a purification chamber containing a specifically designed UV-C emitter which inactivates the germs. In the SA3500, the air then passes through both micro and carbon filters to provide even cleaner sterilised air.
This process is well established and understood within the scientific community, and for many years it has been used succesfully in the industrial, commercial and health sectors. By continuously processing the air SafeAir machines provide a better, cleaner enviroment and can make a significant contribution to the improved wellbeing of your family, customers or staff*.
We are now pleased to bring this technology in a uniquely portable, fully programmable (SA3500) form, to home and office, at affordable prices.
Over a period of many decades, Ultra-Violet C technology has been scientifically proven to be an effective method of inactivating airborne viruses, bacteria and fungus. This is done by altering their DNA so they cannot reproduce and cause infection. Common pathogens, such as those in the list below, have been shown to be inactivated by exposure to UV-C at the correct dosage:
An added advantage of the SafeAir system, is that the sterilised and filtered air will typically improve the environment for Asthma sufferers.
